TICKETS PLEASE BY BLAISE HAYWARD - The Eagles
The Eagles, Tokyo, Japan 1976
This was Joe Walsh’s first tour as a member of the band. Joe replaced original member Bernie Leadon who departed at the end of 1975. After 10 days in Australia the Eagles landed in Tokyo at Haneda airport at 6:00 am on January 31st.
They were scheduled to play 6 concerts. Two in Osaka with one night stands in Fukuoka, Kobe, Tokyo and Nagoya. There were audible yells for Randy on each night and the tour contained the first known live recording of “Take It To The Limit”. According to Glenn Frey when Randy would sing it, it was mass hysteria. Tickets were priced between 1,700 and 2,800 yen which was the equivalent of $6.00 to $10.00 US.
