Steve Rapport
Steve is a reformed Cockney, born a long time ago in Stepney in the East End of London, but since 1992 transplanted to the San Francisco Bay Area. His photography career spanned the years 1981 to 1994, during which he was he was lucky enough to work with many great musicians, bands, and people. While Steve was living in San Francisco his photo archive languished in his friend’s garage in Oxfordshire, but in late 2017 he was reunited with his early life’s work, and even now he is still working his way through thousands of contact sheets and transparency sheets, many of which have fared less well than he has over the past 35 years. Every day brings a new discovery of once-lost musical magic.
Since 2001 he has been a full-time teacher of Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and fitness classes at his own martial arts school in San Francisco, while also spending his spare time traveling and taking astonishing photos (his words) on his iPhone.
