Signed limited edition 11×14” platinum print of Tina Turner by Glen Craig. Edition 15

Tina Turner on stage while opening for The Rolling Stones at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA, on November 8, 1969. Often referred to as the “Queen of Rock & Roll” Tina is known for her deeply passionate performance style, both in her singing and how she moves on stage.

“The stage is low at The Forum, so the angles are very good for shooting performers. I had unlimited access on the tour, so I stood right by the mixing board using only a 35mm lens.” — Glen Craig

Tina Turner was well on her way to superstardom, when The Rolling Stones asked her and Ike to open for them on their 1969 US Tour. The Ike & Tina Turner Revue had produced a string of hits beginning as early as 1960, sold millions of records, and received their first Grammy nomination in 1962. They had also previously joined the Rolling Stones on tour in the UK in 1966 and established a strong fan base in Europe. Notably, Tina was featured on the front cover of the second-ever issue of Rolling Stone Magazine in 1967.

Platinum printing, also known as platinotype, is a fine art photographic printing process that creates images with exceptional tonal range, permanence, and a distinctive matte finish. Platinum printing stands as the definitive pinnacle of fine black and white photography. It involves coating a fine art paper with a solution of platinum and/or palladium salts, then exposing it to light with a negative in contact. The process yields a print where the image is composed of finely dispersed platinum and palladium metal embedded within the paper fibers.
